HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Our pricing starts at 1295 and we have 3 packages that we then customize based on your vision to make it perfect for your unique and special event. Therefore, we always recommend setting up a fun and quick call to determine what setup would be best for you, and we can then give you an exact quote. We can't wait to hear about your event!
HOW MUCH SHOULD I BUDGET FOR MY DJ?
You will hear from many vendors that you shouldn’t skimp on their services, but it couldn’t be more true in the case of DJ Entertainment. Considering that your DJ Entertainment will bear the responsibility of over 80% of the success of your celebration, you can see why choosing a FULL-TIME PROFESSIONAL DJ is the wisest choice. Your wedding already looks like a million bucks, so don’t cut corners on the most important element that will make your reception an unforgettable and fun experience. Professional rates for DJ Entertainment range from around $700-$3,500, with the average professional rate being around $1,450 There are less experienced and part-time DJs that may charge less, but when you have a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, why take chances?
WILL YOU HOLD MY DATE?
In the DJ industry, our dates are our “inventory” and therefore cannot be held without a contract and retainer. Even if you need time to decide which package suits you, simply call to request a retainer contract. A small retainer of as low as $500 will hold your date. The most important detail is that you secure your date with us. Then, we can help you design a package right for you. We accept PayPal, Square, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or check for retainer payment.
DO YOU USE CONTRACTS AND ARE YOU INSURED?
For peace of mind, of course we use written contracts and conduct our business professionally. However, we never let the rules get in the way of good business. We are fully insured and are members of the American Disc Jockey Association. We are very easy to work with, and our focus is on celebration and family.
WILL YOU BE ON TIME FOR MY RECEPTION?
Yes. In fact, we will be early. We make all the arrangements for our arrival with your reception hall, and we arrive approximately two hours early to set up. Our equipment and microphones are then tested, tuned, and fully equalized to the room so your first guest hears perfection.

As a Full-Time Professional DJ Company, we only use the most reliable, professional and State-Of-The-Art Equipment. Although our talent, expertise, and musical abilities come first, our Sound and Lighting Systems are the tools we use to perform. When our name, reputation, and mission to deliver the best celebration for you are on the line, we count on our tools to deliver amazing sights and sound trouble-free. We perform on completely digital sound systems using both CD and computers. Creatively, this combination gives us ultimate flexibility to perform mixes never before possible. WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU HAVE? AND DO YOU HAVE A LIST?
Hot Mix Entertainment has the best music on the planet. At the time of this writing, we are holding millions of songs on MP3 and Compact Disc. We subscribe to 3 of the industry’s best music programming services that update our library weekly. These are the same companies that service the top radio stations in the USA. Our music is updated so frequently that we will have all of your favorite tunes and requests. We also have all of your favorite party classics, and tunes from every era including Big Band, Motown, Disco, New Wave 80’s, 90’s, 00’s, 10’s, Classic Rock n’ Roll, Alternative Rock, Top 40 R n B, Urban, Hip Hop, Dance, Club Music, Techno, EDM, Old School, Funk, and even more! Whew! If you are looking for a suggestion list, it is more practical that we send you our “most requested” music suggestion list, along with a suggested song list for traditional dances. Also, keep in mind that there is only time to hear around 15-20 songs per party hour. You’ll find more music and info in the client area of our website.
CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC DJ?
Absolutely. If you have seen one of our DJs perform, it is in our best interest to have he/she perform at your event. We endeavor to provide you with the exact entertainer that you request, however due to the nature of our business, have a second choice or allow us to match you with a perfect entertainer should a particular entertainer fall ill or become unable to perform your show. That way, you are covered in any case.
COVID-19 / CORONAVIRUS POSTPONEMENT POLICY
How Mix Entertainment COVID-19/Coronavirus Policy extends to "social gatherings" scheduled within the national and state social distancing guidelines. Recommendations of "no gatherings" currently extend to events on or before May 4, 2020. This date may be extended or terminated based on the guidance of President Donald Trump, the Center for Disease Control and (see links below).
As you can imagine, we are having to postpone a mass of weddings and events at this time. We know this pandemic is tough on you as well and we want to express our sincerest empathy for the stress and difficulty you may be experiencing. Therefore, our goal is to be as accommodating as possible while protecting our sustainability as a business.
*Retainer &/or payments will transfer over to new date, given:
- Determine how your event date is effected by government guidelines (links below)
a) Definitely affected (March 8, 2020 - May 4, 2020) - RESCHEDULE (see below)
b) Possibly affected (May 5, 2020 - June 30, 2020) - WATCH THIS PAGE FOR UPDATES
c) Potentially affected (July 1, 2020 - all future dates) - CHECK BACK IN 1 MONTH
- New date is within 12 months of original date
- New date must be "mutually agreed to" by customer and Hot Mix Entertainment
- Original DJ is available on new date
- If original DJ is NOT available on new date, additional retainer (25% of event total) required to secure a new DJ
- If a new DJ is necessary and not available, client will select an available date or forfeit retainer and/or any payments (due) per original contract terms
- Original balance is paid on or before original due date, new date rates will be due 30 days prior to new date when applicable (other arrangements on a case-by-case basis)

Re-book in 2020:
- Sun-Fri: no additional charge
- Saturday: no additional charge
(if event WAS originally on a Saturday)
- Saturday: Original event total +20%
(if event was NOT originally on a Saturday)
Re-book in 2021:
- Sun-Fri: Original event total +15%
- Saturday: Current rates + 20%
(if event WAS originally on a Saturday)
- Saturday: Current rates + 30%
(if event was NOT originally on a Saturday)
- Should customer(s) choose to postpone prior to CDC & government guidelines that affect their original event date, there will be a re-booking fee of $500 in addition to new date rates (below) - HOWEVER, if CDC & government guidelines eventually cover your original date, this re-booking fee will be removed from your account/invoice

Scott did a fantastic job. He quickly caught on to the music tastes of my guests and was happy to quickly play their requests. I think everyone danced until they couldn’t dance anymore! Everyone stayed entertained and it’s due to this talented dj. Many people asked for his card. Yes, he was that good.
Scott was amazing! He broke his leg shortly before our wedding and not once gave us any doubt he would still get the job done and do it well. And that he did! We had many compliments on the DJ and can’t recommend him enough! The lighting he suggested and provided really made the room romantic and special. So happy with the services!
What can I say about Scott except that he totally crushed it at our wedding and kept the dancefloor packed all night long? We had a destination Austin wedding and no DJ was good enough for our tastes except Silz so we dragged him all the way down to Texas – a choice we could not be happier with. The music was amazing, he did an insane job with the uplighting – when the lights were lowered, the place looked incredible! – and his photobooth was a highlight to us and our guests. Oliver (who manned the photobooth) was a true professional and had amazing ideas for our friends that made their excitement over picture taking even better. All we wanted at our wedding was a total party and he kept it that way all night long!
We chose Hot Mix because of Scott. We met at his office and we were so impressed. He’s such a pro at what he does. We couldn’t have been happier with the way our wedding turned out. He took care of our ceremony, the dinner music and the dancing. He kept people on the floor and played a great selection of music. Everything was just perfect.
Scott was a perfect 10! I can't imagine a better DJ for our wedding... We knew he was good when we hired him, but he honestly blew us away at the wedding. He NAILED it! Cocktail hour was full of our favorite music and set the perfect tone for the night. At the reception, his announcements were perfect, and it was obvious that he has many years of radio/emcee experience. But most importantly, our guests danced all night and so did we! We had the BEST time. I also heard from friends that he handled the guests who had less-than-awesome song requests really well. Scott is a consummate professional. He knows music and how to run a room, and he has all the best quality equipment. I could not be happier with our decision to hire Scott, and I will recommend him to everyone I know!
